ok here we go...
well, we are off to london this wekend for a few more fights. one of my boys, traz who many of you might recognize from our you tube video is fighting along side one of my other fighter, tyler. both recently had their first fights back on the 10th of october in kitchener. traz had a tough fight losing a split decision and tyler was in my opinion railroaded by an increasingly eveident corrupt way of scoring fights.
i have said to my fights on numerous occasions that if you let it go to the decision then you're putting all your hard work into the hands of three people to decide. most of the time these people have no ring experience and sit making judegment calls on a sport they are unable to compete in because of a lack of "balls". it is so disheartening to watch and see these boys/girls train their hearts out and finally have the chance to show off their hard work in front of a crowd only to be ripped off by a judge who is either blind, in favour of the opposing teams fighter of on the "take".
i am a fair judge of my fighters and their preformances. i will tell them if they won or lost or what they could improve on. i know they are not being paid for what they are doing but when shit like this happens it really soures the taste of this great sport not only in my mind as their coach but in their minds as athletes. alot of times a fighter might not want to compete again having seen their hard work wasted.
i was approached by a friend of mine who is heavily involved with this organization that we fought for. we meet quite regularly to discuss business and the sport. on this partical meeting he was trying to get me to become more involved with this said organization. he says i have alot to offer this group because of my extensive knowledge in the sport as well as my training methods. so i am left with a decision to be either the helper in a corrupt system or a "ronin" and continue to be an unsilenced voice for the little guy who continualy finds his or herself at the short end of the shady stick.
if you know me at all then you know which roll i'll be taking!
often out manned, but never out gunned!!!
until next time...hands up, chin down, and keep on fighting.
